Velocity Training is excited to announce that DC3 Consulting & Inspection has partnered with VTES™ to provide API 1169 exam training services and other training courses to their inspection staff and employees. All DC3 employees will now receive exclusive rates for any of our course offerings, both online and in-person classes.
The API 1169 Pipeline Inspector Certification is relatively new to the industry. Developed by oil and gas experts, this certification became public knowledge in late 2014. While responses from the oil & gas sector were initially gradual, the API 1169 program has exploded last year, with training for the API 1169 exam in high-demand, according to Velocity Training's media relations advisor, Jessica Krueger. "This is largely due to major players, such as INGAA and CEPA, endorsing the API 1169 certification and making it a requirement for all inspection resources to have taken and passed the exam by the end of 2018", she said in a statement issued in July 2016.
Answering the industry's need for better exam training has also led the Velocity Training team to begin offering API 1169 instructor-led classroom training combined with their on-line supplemental training; creating a blended learning tool capable of extending the depth of retention for inspectors. Either option inspectors choose, will significantly improve their chances of successfully passing the API 1169 Pipeline Inspector certification exam.
Major organizations, in the United States, Canada, and Australia, that offer inspection resources to the oil & gas pipeline transportation companies (like Gulf Interstate Field Services), have teamed up with Velocity Training to assist their inspection staff and ensure they have the resources to prepare themselves for the exam. The ultimate goal is that they have the certified staff ready for when the industry will implement the API 1169 requirement across all projects.

DC3 Selects Velocity Training as Primary Source of Pipeline Inspector Training
DC3 is excited to announce that Velocity Training has been selected as our primary source of pipeline inspector training. Velocity has demonstrated top tier performance in their training course offerings, boasting over 85% rate of pass for their graduates of the API 1169 inspector course.
DC3 and Velocity have long been engaged in like minded endeavors. Though unknown to one another, the management of each has set out to better the industry in which we work and help folks keep their heads above water along the way.
An example is the sponsorship of Dustin Marshall by Velocity. Dustin was a veteran having trouble finding work, but never let that stop him from helping others at every opportunity. Matt and Jessica at Velocity saw this brave and generous man in need and stepped up to offer no cost training and sponsorship of his test for the API 1169. There is no doubt that Dustin earned and deserved every bit of help, and there is no doubt as to the generosity and integrity of Velocity in recognizing and reacting to his need.
DC3 is excited to work with such an amazing group. Look for joint efforts to offer deserving folks the help they need to keep putting food on the table for their families. DC3 and Velocity have already begun to plan scheduled training and job fairs and sponsorships.
“It is our duty as our client’s advocate to ensure they receive the best product possible. Any product without integrity and honest value is not the best.” – Mike Belcher
Thank you Velocity for living up to that standard.
